Context
Due to geometrical aspects, not all modern and most fashionable frame shapes can be used with progressive designs. Although frame shapes are a starting point for buying a new pair of eyeglasses, they are likely to become a limitation when choosing the progressive designs. In most cases, progressive zones can’t be properly defined, and vision comfort is severely affected. In such cases, the customer has to change the selected frame shape with a most suitable one. The main challenge today is to accomplish customer fashion frame requests with the best optical vision performance possible. The starting point of the Opto+ DAFD technology is the Opto+ Infinity design serie. Each infinity design can be individually tailored with different settings for far zone, near zone, inset, decentration etc. Labs can manually customize the design by choosing the width of progressive zones in mm. The Infinity designs and the Opto+ cloud computation power are the pillars of the Opto+ DAFD technology (Dynamic Adaptable Frame Design).
How does it works
By sending the frame shape data to Opto+ LDS, DAFD Technology will automatically replicate on the cloud the real frame shape and will automatically adjust the progressive design according to the selected frame. Opto+ DAFD performs: Automatic design decentration

Automatic design rotation, and, as a last step, thanks to our AI (artificial intelligence), Opto+ DAFD compares all the possible combinations and chooses the fittest one, guaranteeing the best combination between astigmatisms, clear vision area and thickness.
